Experts: Russians prefer Twitter, Telegram, VK while Facebook down

MOSCOW, Oct 6 (PRIME) -- Russians have flowed to Twitter, Telegram, and VKontakte during the Monday outage of Facebook, according to a research of Brand Analytics seen by PRIME late on Tuesday.

“Twitter has the biggest growth – a rise in messages on October 4 (from 6 p.m. till 12 a.m. Moscow time) amounted to 52% against the average number of messages for the mentioned time slot. Telegram was on the second place with a 23% rise, and the share of messages on VKontakte grew 8%,” the analysts said.

Russian-speaking users of Twitter exchanged 7 million messages during the six evening hours of Monday, VKontakte 5.2 million, and Telegram 3.8 million.
